Leave it in the store where it belongs. I bought one for the heck of it. Got tired of dragging out my compressor. Used it once. I swear by the good lord above that under no circumstance will I ever use it again. It will totally screw up your project. I suggest getting a cheap gravity feed spray gun and get a tip used for auto grade clear coats. Thin and spray......works great!

Black & Decker would have done well to stay out of the airless sprayer business and leave that to the adults. I purchased a 5.5 PRO and attempted to use it to spray molding and baseboard. I am not a novice, but this equipment tested all my paint skills. The result was the sprayer would work for a few minutes and then a glob of splatter would fly out onto to the surface being painted. I was continually back brushing to take out the uneven spray patterns and splatters. I was using thinned latex with the 06 nozzle. I ensured the paint was thinned properly and tested the viscosity with a drip funnel. Even though it was new paint I also strained with a 70 mesh. After setting up the gun for the correct spray and adjusting for volume, the result was an erratic and unpredictable splatter pattern which would come when least desired. The end result after painting appox 800 l/ft was a marginal paint finish. It was rough and uneven except for the areas back brushed where required. I normally use an external mix type sprayer but decided to try this brand because ACE Hardware was discontinuing Wagner. I would not recommend this sprayer, especially to the weekend handymen who expect equipment to work as claimed on the box. Trust me when I tell you it does not perform up to minimal expectations. This is my first airless gun, but will try another brand by someone who has a reputation in this field. Shame on you ACE for replacing a name brand with an untested and untried product.

I thought this would make staining my patio table and benches a snap. What a mistake! It's very loud and a heavy. I could not get it to spray properly using the jar attachment. I had better results using the pick-up tube. I covered my patio with a 12 X 12 tarp and there was still overspray everywhere. What a mess, and then I had to clean up afterward. I've used it once and now it's back in box. I'll probably never use it again. It might be good to paint a barn, but use a respirator.
